Everlasting Memories
After suffering declining health for several years,
Morton Siegal, the author of 33 books passed away on
Thursday evening, April 1st.
The publishing world knew Mr. Siegal as Mordecai, the pet
name that his mother called him as a small child. Mr. Siegal
was an eloquent speaker and the Past President of the Dog
Writers Association of America, an organized he truly loved.
In 2009, he was presented with the prestigious DWAA Hall
of Fame Award on the floor of Madison Square Garden during
the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show. That was truly
his crowning moment.
