Jim Deskevich and Corbett Marshall
Variegated is an acclaimed textile design studio co-founded and operated by artists Jim Deskevich and
Corbett Marshall. Founded in New York City in 2001, Variegated quickly caught the eye of industry
colleagues and tastemakers for its brightly-colored creations for casual and stylish modern living.
In addition to commissions for private individual clients, Deskevich and Marshall have done commercial
work for the Hyatt and W hotel chains.
Variegated uses all natural fibers such as linen, cotton and wool for its textile combinations. All of
the silk screening of fabrics is either done on premises in their studio or at a small production
facility in Massachusetts. All inks are water based and non-toxic. It is important to Variegated to
offer items that are as green as possible, as many of the finished products hold a very personal
connection in their client's lives.
In 2003, Variegated relocated to the Mid-Hudson Valley. The retail store in the historic town of
Catskill, which opened in Aprill 2007, showcases Variegated’s signature textile work, as well as the
creations of independent designers and artists, some from the Upstate NY region. Variegated and its
business partners have received international attention and acclaim in the pages of such publications
as Dwell, Metropolitan Home, Lucky, Real Simple, Architectural Digest and The New York Times.
